A one-day workshop on National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) for Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) for medical officers, CHOs, Staff Nurses, ANMs, LHVs and Vaccinators was held on June 2, at CMO conference hall, Kohima. A press release by CMO, Kohima Dr. Tumchobeni informed that the workshop was conducted by Chief Medical Officer, Kohima along with district health society, NHM.
The training was conducted with an aim to familiarise the health workers with the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) and AEFI surveillance system at district and sub – district levels; to understand structures, tools and roles of different stakeholders in the implementation process of QMS for AEFI surveillance and develop district implementation plan for QMS in AEFI surveillance.
Resource person for the training included Dr. Sheila Longkumer, SMO (WHO) and Dr. Longri Kichu, UNICEF.
Participants of the event were medical officers, CHOs, Staff Nurses, ANMs, LHVs, vaccinators and DPMU.
