Ongpangkong Mungdang (OM) Mokokchung has appealed to the responsible department to strictly adhere to the approved Detailed Project Report (DPR) in the ongoing two-lane extension project of National Highway 62 within its jurisdiction.
In a memorandum addressed to the executive engineer PWD (National Highway) Mokokchung division, Ongpangkong Mungdang president Lipokmeren and general secretary Dr. Rongsenchiba stated that the organisation had been closely monitoring the ongoing works and lauded the department for expanding NH-62 to accommodate increased traffic and improve connectivity in the region.
However, OM stated that there “may be instances” where the approved DPR was not being strictly adhered to.
OM stated that its “primary concern” revolved around the quality of work and the exact adherence to the specified two-lane road width as stated in the approved DPR.
The organisation asserted that not an inch less of the intended road width should be compromised during the execution of the project.
OM affirmed to monitor and review the ongoing works on a timely basis to safeguard the welfare and interest of the people residing in the region.
Stating that it understood the department’s commitment to excellence and the well-being of the community, the OM has, therefore, requested the EE PWD (NH) Mokokchung division to prioritise and enforce strict adherence to the approved DPR particularly concerning road width specifications.
