Preparation underway for Moatsu at Diphupar

Ao Senso Telongjem Diphupar (ASTD) is preparing to host Moatsu festival scheduled to be held on May 2 at Diphupar Village local ground.
In a press note, ASTD president, Latong Pongen, stated that with the aim of inculcating the significance of Moatsu to the younger generation, the festival would be observed under the theme “Envisioning today’s cultural values for tomorrow”.
Convenor, planning committee, A. Akum Longkumer also expressed confidence that the youth would enhance their knowledge about the rich cultural practices of one’s community and also preserving culture for posterity.
The release stated that for better relationship and co-ordination, the festival would also witness the different ranges of the Ao tribe and the various organizations within Diphupar village would take part in the traditional “tug of war”.
