CEDOK, NASU fete rank holders, subject toppers

Commission for Education Diocese of Kohima (CEDOK) felicitated NBSE Rank holders and Subject Toppers from Catholic Schools, and also Catholic Schools that secured 100 % pass result at the programme held at Holy Cross, Dimapur on June 10.
40 Rank holders (29 HSLC & 11 HSSLC) and 106 Subject Toppers (93 HSLC & 13 HSSLC) were felicitated besides 16 Schools (12 HSLC & 4 HSSLC) on the occasion.
According to CEDOK secretary, Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Charalel, the rank holders were felicitated with a certificate, memento and cash award and the subject toppers were felicitated with certificate and cash award.
The felicitation programme was graced by minister of Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse as special guest. She appreciated the catholic schools for the educational growth of the state and said that their contribution was not only for the academic excellence but also for moulding the lives of students.
Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima in his presidential address highlighted the contribution of Catholic schools to the educational progress of the state.
Joint Chief Executive Officer, NSDMA and president Catholic Association of Nagaland, Johnny Ruangmei also exhorted the students. Along with the special guests, chairman NBSE Asano Sekhose; Nagaland Information Commissioner, Charles Nozasol; president Naga club, Dimapur, Thomas Kikon and advisor, NCWA, Rita Kikon gave away certificates of appreciation and cash awards to the toppers.
17 receive NASU’s excellence award
A total of 17 toppers and subject toppers of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2023 were awarded by the Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU) at the excellence award ceremony held at Kohima village council hall, on June 10.
Speaking at the event as guest speaker, director, Youth Resources and Sports, Kethosituo Sekhose, congratulated all the successful students especially the toppers and achievers for bringing laurels to the community.
He advised the students to keep themselves focused and strive towards their goals with sheer determination and hard work, and follow their passion by always putting God first in their works and studies.
Sekhose said hard work always pays off and told the toppers that they were witnessing the reward of their hard labour. He urged them to continue working hard in order to excel in life and be able to shoulder the responsibilities and to achieve their dreams.
He also advised the entire students to work towards bringing honour and pride to the society. Earlier, the programme was chaired by NASU education secretary, Keneitsituo Kense, while pastor, CRC Pezielietsie, Letuolie Pienyü, offered the invocation.
Exhortation was delivered by NASU advisor and P.A to chief minister, Rükravolie Rülho and president, Angami Students’ Union, Khriesamhalie David Mere. A special number was presented by Thejasenuo Kire while NASU auditor general, Viketoulie Khrodi proposed the vote of thanks.
