DMC informs on slaughter house

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed that all animals for consumption should be slaughtered only from authorised modern slaughter house established by DMC at Old Khatkhati road, Burma Camp; all the meat shops should avail Trade License by following strict guidelines of DMC and all meat shops should be upgraded to provide safe, healthy and hygienic meat to the consumers. DMC said this notification was a per the Supreme Court of India directives relating to enforcement of slaughter house rules and prevention of cruelty to animals. It informed that the order would be effective within 45 days from the date of publication of the order. DMC have cautioned that failing to comply would invite heavy penalty and imprisonment as per the provision of the Act.
