Awareness meeting on village, ward adoption held in Kohima

District core convener and members of village and ward adoption held an awareness meeting with the village and ward council chairmen and secretaries on April 11 at DPDB hall Kohima.
According to DIPR report, member and ADC Planning, Ketoho Luho stated that village and ward adoption committee was formed with the objective of lifting the living standard of the rural villages especially those villages which were economically and educationally behind others.
Adding that the main goals of the village adoption committee were to identify the needs of the villagers and make them aware of the DPDB activities as the most important forum for planning and development for the district and to bring about changes.
He also informed that the DPDB committees have selected five (5) villages and one (1) ward, one each from 6 (six) assembly constituency under Kohima district which included Kiruphema Bawe village, Chede Basa village, Zhadima village, Mima village, Sakhaba village and D. Block ward Kohima for the year 2017 to 2018.
He opined that the committee was a voluntary service and not a government programme and urged them to co-operate with the adoption committees to bring about changes in a small way for the benefits of the villagers.
Convener and ADC Hq, Lithrongla Tongpi also shared her views and suggestions and interacted with the attendees for further implementation of the programmed and sought their co-operation to achieve better.
