DMC revises pork rates

With reference to the representation submitted by the Pig whole seller of Dimapur for enhancement of pork meat items and in view of the reported rise in the supply rate of pork item, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has revised and re-fixed pork rates to be enforced with immediate effect: Pork (wholesale) – Rs. 215/- per kg; pork (dressed) – Rs. 300/- per kg and offal (head, hoof, intestine) – Rs. 260/- per kg.
In an order issued by DMC administrator, W. Manpai Phom, the above prescribe rate is maximum amount fixed by DMC which is to be strictly followed by pork seller.
It informed that the stall has to be hygienic as per the norms and the butchers have been directed to provided quality hygienic meat to the customers.
It warned that failing to comply with the above instruction, DMC will be bound to take appropriate action as per provision of law.
