Community Health Centre, Pungro, under the Chief Medical Officer’s office, Kiphire, observed World No Tobacco Fortnight (WNTF) from May 31 to June 15.
The fortnight was held through the initiative of National Resource Centre for Oral Health & Tobacco Cessation (NRC-OR-TC) under the Aegis National Oral Health Programme, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India on the theme, “We need food, not tobacco.” District Media Officer, CMO office Kiphire, Haichikambe Pame informed that at the event, held at CHC Pungro, Dr. Weri Mero, Dental Surgeon, imparted the ill effects of consuming tobacco to all the participants and made them took the anti-tobacco pledge.
