More organisations back NFHRCC

More organisations including Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN), Lotha Lower Range Public Organisation (LLRPO) and Northern Sumi Students’ Union (NSSU) have come out in support of Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC)’s appeal for expediting foothills road project.
Earlier this month, the NFHRCC reiterated its appeal to the state government to put into action the Nagaland Assembly Resolution adopted on September 22, 2022 by taking up the foothills project under North Eastern Council (NEC) during the Financial Year 2023-2024 in the interest of the Naga public at large.
KIN: Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) through its president L Singsit and general secretary Thangkhokai Gangte stated that the need for all-weather connectivity had been the genuine demand of the people of Nagaland for a long time. KIN stated that the foothill road was vital to growth and progress of the state.
It said that the road once completed would immensely benefit all sections of the people within the state and beyond.
KIN has, therefore, appealed to the state government to take up the foothill road “people’s road project” on priority.
LLRPO: Lotha Lower Range Public Organisation (LLRPO) through its president T. Amos Kikon and secretary A Yansathung Jami also endorsed NFHRCC’s appeal to the state government on the construction of Trans Nagaland Highway (Foothills Road) through NEC funding.
Appreciating the leadership of the chief minister Neiphiu Rio and his colleagues, LLRPO assured its “unconditional support” to the noble initiatives.
The organisation also urged the state government to take up the “Historic Naga Connectivity Road” issue on priority and include it during 2023-24 fiscal year.

NSSU: Northern Sumi Students’ Union (NSSU) through its president P Samuel Chophy and general secretary Hika Achumi extended its “unconditional support” towards NFHRCC’s pursuit to make the foothills road motorable from Khelma to Tizit since 2013.
On the resolution adopted in the NLA on September 22, 2022, the union urged the state government to put the resolution into action without fail.
