Correspondent

As part of its annual activity, Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU), on Wednesday organised a plantation-cum-cleanliness drive at the village premises.
The tree plantation started from the new village gate all the way to the old gate wherein a total of 100 saplings were planted.
Tree saplings included oak trees and monkey beans donated by Kohima Forest Division.
Students from the eight Khels of the village took part in the plantation.
ZSU president, Medolenuo Loucü said the union marked the auspicious summer solstice to embark in voluntary community service to keep the village areas clean at the same time spread the message of hygiene within the students community and also the general public. She added that this year, the students had planted the trees with the hope to contribute towards a cleaner and greener planet and creating awareness on the need to protect the environment.
During the drive, the students body also installed notice boards at three strategic locations in the village. Leaders of Zhadima Village Women Society also took part in the drive to encourage and aided the students.
