Konyak Union (KU) headquarters Mon has granted permission to its Tizit unit to collect “contributions” from vehicles with effect from June 24-September 22, 2023 for the expenditures incurred during the repairing of the damaged Namtola-Tizit Pongma bridge.
In an authorization letter, KU vice president H.A. Hongnao Konyak said the union has authorized its Tizit unit to “act as representatives and collect the contributions” from the vehicle owners using the bridge during the specified period. KU stated that the funds collected would be utilized to recover the expenses incurred during the restoration of the bridge.
In order to ensure transparency, KU directed Tizit unit to adhere to the following rates: two-wheelers (Rs.20), three-wheelers (Rs.100), commercial four-wheelers (Rs.200), regular four-wheelers (Rs.100), heavy commercial vehicles (Rs. 300) and government vehicles (Rs.1000).
KU also directed its unit to maintain an account of the collected amount and a detailed report of the contributions and expenditures be submitted to the KU headquarters Mon on completion. In this regard, KU has requested all vehicle owners to cooperate with the representatives of its Tizit unit.
