NPF hits back at ACAUT; Therie slams NPF

ACAUT un-mandated, says NPF
NPF central through its media & press bureau has slammed ACAUT for posing a challenge for a public debate on corruption, terming it as an un-mandated organisation with a few busy-bodies spearheading its supposedly social crusade with utopian aim to cure the society of all social ills in a matter of months.
NPF reminded ACAUT that the ‘common platform on Naga issue’ organized by it on September 21, 2015, “turned out to be a huge flop and a slap on the face with all mass-based civil societies boycotting it.”
It said the turnout was embarrassing as only a handful made it and pictures of empty chairs were acutely pitiful.
The party advised ACAUT members to understand that NPF does not defend or condone any kind of corruption in the system. “But the deep-rooted corruption in the society is all-pervading and needs concerted efforts of everyone to eradicate it,” said NPF, adding: “we cannot expect miracles to happen right in front of our eyes.”
However, providing good governance to the people being the professed and avowed stand of the NPF-led DAN government, NPF said the president and chief minister had in several closed door meetings with senior party men and legislators warned of stern action against those involved in corrupt practices, saying “he shall not hesitate to show Red Card against defaulters.”
Reacting to the allegations that there were press secretaries to CM drawing government salaries and working in the media & press bureau of the party, NPF said the bureau has sincere and dedicated party functionaries who voluntarily render their services to the party and the people without expecting or drawing any pecuniary benefits from the government.
However, press secretary or media officers to CM are appointed on a co-terminus basis, and it is the discretion of any CM to appoint persons of his choice with no procedural lapses, NPF said.
It further clarified that those attached to the CM need not necessarily mean they are manning the Media & Press Bureau of the party, and/ or even if they are involved in the functioning of the party affairs it is nothing out of the ordinary since they are political appointees.
As for declaration of assets, NPF said ACAUT leaders would do well to remember that every contesting candidate to the Assembly elections declare their property/assets, moveable or immovable, on affidavit papers before the Election Commission and are displayed for public consumption.
Reminding ACAUT of the adage that “those who live in glass houses should not throw stones on others”, the party urged ACAUT to stop making utterances and allegations “lest the dirt under the carpets at their homes are exposed, whereby, they themselves would be made to look like the proverbial foolish Emperor they mentioned.”
Furthermore, NPF asked ACAUT to get their facts and figures right before shooting off their mouth.
“The population of Nagaland, according to 2011 Census, stands at 19,78,502, and it is a wonder how or from where it came up with the population as not more than 12 lakhs,” the party stated.
NPF springboard of RSS-BJP: Therie
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has once again turned its gun towards NPF alleging that the party was the springboard political party of the RSS-BJP in the state, partially responsible for installing BJP in the North East.
In  a press note NPCC president, K. Therie said there was a belief in the minds of the people that unless “we are close to the central govt. at Delhi, we cannot run the state govt, expecting special plan assistance and special non-plan assistance to wipe out the deficits and shortfall of cash in the Civil Deposit.”
However, deep in their inner mind, the BJP recognises that whatever Nagas say, Nagaland is a Christian State, Therie said.
It said the Finance ministry or any other ministry in the BJP Govt. would be answerable to RSS for giving any special assistance to a Christian state like Nagaland.
However, he said the UPA government considering government employees as citizens of India without any political colour, released Rs. 712 crore as special non-plan assistance and Rs 326 crore as special plan-assistance. “If the BJP govt. cannot even release the entitlements under the 14th FC award, then what is the benefit of being with the RSS-BJP at the risk to our identity, religion, customary laws, social practices and our future?” Therie questioned.
He said the RSS and BJP’s principle objective was to pass the Bill of Uniform Civil Code which would mean “One Nation, One Law, One religion and One Tax”.
Once UCC is passed, he warned that the special provisions such as Art 370 and 371 (A) and others would also be rendered powerless.
He reminded NPF that the BJP was only waiting for majority in the Rajya Sabha, the states and the union territories. “Whatever we express about our uniqueness and identity will sink in the huge population of India. This is the greatest threat in our lifetime,” he stated.
