Indian Red Cross Society Chümoukedima District Branch was launched and the office inaugurated at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chümoukedima Office Complex on June 27 by the Nagaland State Branch, IRCS, chairman, Abeni TCK Lotha.
A press release by IRCS Nagaland stated that in her speech, Abeni expressed happiness over the launch of a new branch and expressed gratitude to DC Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, for allotting a “big space” for the district branch office. She also deliberated on the importance of humanitarian work in the present world and on the functions of Red Cross Society.
In a keynote address, Nagaland State Branch IRCS, general secretary, Akhale V Khamo shared about the activities of the Red Cross in different districts of Nagaland.
DC Chümoukedima, and the newly elected president of Chümoukedima District Branch IRCS, Shivam also highlighted the importance of Red Cross in the society and its role.
The programme was chaired by newly elected chairman of Chümoukedima District Branch IRCS, Vichutuolie Mere, a prayer by member, managing committee, Keviyato Whiso, welcome address by treasurer Chümoukedima District Branch IRCS, Vekuto Swu, a special number was presented by the Youth Red Cross, Patkai Christian College and vote of thanks by newly elected honorary secretary Chümoukedima Branch IRCS, Mhiesitsolie Khate.
