Large stock of expired consumer goods and others items were seized during a surprise checking on March 6-10 initiated by the Chumukedima Town Youth Organization (CTYO) in and around its jurisdiction. In a press note, CTYO president Kezhanguto Zhotso stated that the seized goods/items included baby cream and powder, cold drinks, dairy products, biscuits and medicines. The seized items/goods were destroyed in the presence of the Chumukedima Town Head G.B, Chumukedima ‘A’ village chairman and Chumukedima Mother’s Association, CTYO added. CTYO also appealed to the public to be cautious of such health hazardous goods and items and also warned the business community to refrain from selling or stocking such commodities which would call for strict action against them.
