Nagaland: Training on ‘sugarcane setts production’ at Tsungiki Village

One day training on “sugarcane setts production and varietal trial” was organised by the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Wokha office on July 14 at Tsungiki Village.
A press release by DAO Wokha office stated that delivering a keynote address, DAO Wokha, L Sunep Pongener encouraged the farmers to adopt modern technology for Sugarcane production. He assured to provide any possible help from the department and to work with coordination between the farmers and the department.


During the technical session, agriculture inspector, L Subenthung Humtsoe highlighted the farmers on the latest technology and cultivation practices developed for sugarcane setts production.
He also sensitised the farmers on promising varieties of sugarcane variety suitable for hilly regions and encouraged them to adopt those variety for higher productivity.
An interactive session between the officials and the farmers was held after the technical session. Altogether 28 sugarcane farmers from Tsungiki Village attended the training, which was chaired by agriculture officer, Phyobeni Mozhui.
