Assam Rifles recovered 20 tons of areca nuts worth around Rs 2.4 crores on July 22 from National Highway 2 near Kigwema, Kohima.
PRO in a press release informed that the items were being smuggled through Manipur to Nagaland in two trucks. The recovered items handed were over to the Customs Department, Kohima for further legal proceedings.
