Nagabazar Panchayat clarifies to news report

Following the news report in a section of the media regarding “head teacher of GMS Nagabazar absent for two and half years”, the Nagabazar Panchayat Kohima Ward 4 clarified that it was a clear case of “misinformation”.
In a press note, the panchayat chairman Vilasielie Solo and general secretary Zeneizokho Kire, while appreciating the Kohima Town legislator for visiting government schools, said that the issue regarding the particular head teacher was has clearly been a case of misinformation.
They said that the said head teacher was attached to the department for preparation of Government Primary Teachers seniority list via an October 25, 2021 order and since then was unable to attend classes regularly because of the said assignment.
However, they said the teacher had been actively performing his duties till date.
The panchayat further said that the school management committee (SMC) held a meeting on July 27, 2022, wherein one assistant head teacher was appointed to take charge during the attachment period.
It maintained that the school, over the years, has been performing well academically securing excellent position in competitive exams results among the government schools in Nagaland.
Therefore, the allegation, purported by some staffs in question purely malice with the intention of tarnishing the good image that the head teacher was regrettable, it said.
The SMC also urged the news reporters/channels to first ascertain the facts before broadcasting in the media to avoid similar situations in the future.
