Border Roads Organization (BRO) HQ Project Sewak has resorted the crucial road link between Tuensang and Mon, which had suffered extensive damage due to a massive landslide triggered by incessant rain near Thimlak Village at KM 18.050 on July 16.
According to a DIPR report, the incident led to the collapse of the existing Bailey Bridge at the location, causing it to fall into the Aoyoung River and effectively cutting off road connectivity.
Responding swiftly to the crisis, the 100 Road Construction Company of the 15 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) under Project Sewak took immediate action.
On July 18, a temporary bamboo bridge was constructed to facilitate pedestrian traffic through the area and on August 1, a 110-foot Bailey Bridge was launched, stated the report.
