Landslide triggered by heavy rain cut off the road leading to common graveyard in Kipongya Ward Kiphire on August 9.
The heavy rain also caused immense landslides damaging houses and drainage systems in Kiphire town. Many households were forced to leave their house due to fear of further damage.
Affected families were temporarily sheltering in their relatives’ places and some were in search of rented house. DDMA, Kiphire has been putting effort to assist the effected household. It was also reported that roads to paddy and maize field nearby Kiphire were also damaged.
