Governor La Ganesan distributed the Governor’s Award for Distinction in Art, Music and Literature, 2023 during the “At Home” celebration of the 77th Independence Day at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on Tuesday.
Ganesan handed over the Governor’s Awards to Kevisedenuo Margaret Zinyu (art), K. Lolo-Arts (pottery), Among Jamir (music) and K3M Band (music).
Addressing the gathering, the governor extended his warm greetings to everyone. He urged everyone to remember and pay homage to all heroes and great personalities from all walks of life and professions whose contributions had made the country proud and taken it towards the path of greatness and prosperity.
He also congratulated all the winners and achievers of the Governor’s Award. He acknowledged that their contributions had made Nagaland rich and made everyone feel proud, adding that the awards were a testament to their talents and hard works. He hoped that this would serve as a motivation for them to achieve greater heights in life.
State chief minister Neiphiu Rio, who was present on the occasion, congratulated the recipients of the awards. He urged them to continue to share their knowledge and talents with the younger generation so as to lead the society to greater heights.
The programme was also attended by deputy chief minister Y Patton, Nagaland Legislative Assembly speaker Sharingain Longkümer, ministers, Lokayukta, advisers, MLAs, senior bureaucrats, senior military and police officers, NGO representatives and other special invitees.
Chief secretary and chairman of State selection Committee J Alam also addressed the function. This was stated in a Raj Bhavan press release.
