National Digital Library India Club (NDLI Club) in collaboration with Central Library St. Joseph University Chümukedima organized a one day National webinar under the theme “Know Your Library: An awareness on Open Access Resources” at SJU auditorium on August 19.
According to PRO SJU, the webinar was organized for the first year students with an aim to impart valuable insights into utilizing open access resources effectively for their academic pursuits.
The resource person for the webinar was Chief Medical Librarian, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Kanchipuram Dr.C. Velmurugan, where he highlighted the five principles of the Father of Library Dr. S. R. Ranganathan.
Velmurugan pointed out the importance and benefits of reading books, and also discussed the availability of various free resources such as National Digital Library and encouraged the students to make access of it.
During the programme, registrar SJU Dr K Sethupathy delivered the presidential address, invocation by PRO SJU Fr Anish and felicitation by Deputy Registrar SJU, Rev Sr M Thaines. More than 400 student and several faculty members participated in the event.
