SAYO flays fratricide

Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) has condemned the murder of late Rokozeto Seletsu by his elder brother Lezo Seletsu at Pfüchama village, Kohima district on August 20, 2023.

In a condemnation note, SAYO president Metekhrielie Mejura and general secretary Metevizo Sophie stated that the “heinous act” committed by Lezo upon his own brother was “beyond imagination and alien to our culture and society whatsoever.” SAYO stated that a brother was considered to be a role model and guide to his brother and siblings.

SAYO has, therefore, appealed to the law enforcement agency to bring the culprit to book at the earliest without any leniency and award befitting punishment as per law of the land. The youth body also expressed solidarity and conveyed prayer to the family, friends and all those who knew him.
