Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) on Tuesday said that the interview conducted on March 12 and 13 for LDA’s and other respective post under the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training was “strongly rebutted” as it was purely predetermined with the influence of few vested individual(s) in the department itself. The Federation alleged that conducted of viva-voice before the declaration of written result clearly signifies that an interview was called under the behest of some one’s by depriving job opportunities to lesser previledge class in the society.
In a press release ENSF joint secretary, Likhumse Sangtam said most of discriminated candidates were from Eastern Nagaland who were serving in the department for some years and most of candidates who were appointed on mere interview basis happened to be kins and relatives of the Board Members for which the Federation resented and asserted that “ism” still exist despite moving against it. The Federation pointed-out that similar treatment were meted to the Eastern Nagas in many cases particularly on Government job avenues.
ENSF made its stand clear that it shall check corruption in all forms.
However, on the same issue the Federation issued a press release earlier apprising the authority concerned to revoke the appointment orders, yet the authority remained oblivious in this issue.
Therefore, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation appealed the department to revoke the orders and to convene fair interview at the earliest and failure to take appropriate measures to address issue shall provoke the Federation.
Meanwhile, in a representation addressed to the director school education, P Methna Konyak, ENSF general secretary said despite its representation served by the Federation vide letter no. VP/02/PR/01/08 dated April 3, 2008 for immediate issuing of extension order in favour of all the adhoc and contract teachers under its establishment in the 4 (four) districts viz., Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kihpire, the authority concerned deviated the grievances without being materialized, for which the academic careers of the students has been obstructed in all fronts.
Having imperative concern on education section, the Federation reminded the department to expedite the matter within the stipulated period of 20 (twenty) days with effect from issuing of this letter and cautioned that failure to comply/address the genuine need of the students shall invite the Federation to take further steps for the welfare of the students’ community.
