ISBT murder: Organizations demand justice

Condemnation against the killing of an employee of NST department, Hokheto Yeptho by Noknyei Konyak on August 24 at ISBT complex, Dimapur continued to pour in with civil society organizations demanding punishment be meted out to culprit as per the law.


ESH: Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) has vehemently condemned the “brutal, cold blooded” murder of Hozheto Yeptho, on August 24 at ISBT Dimapur. In a press release ESU appreciated the swift response exhibited by the Dimapur police in apprehending the culprit, and demanded befitting punishment be given as per the law. The Hoho further appealed to the state government to grant ex-gratia to kin of the victim, who lost his life while performing duty. ESH also extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the almighty grant eternal solace to the departed soul.


ATKKH: Aghunato Tokukujo Kukami Kuqhakulu Hoho (ATKKH) has expressed dismay on the “brutal and senseless killing” of Hozheto Yeptho.
The Hoho appreciated the timely action of the concerned authority in apprehending the prime accused and appealed to deliver justice to the bereaved family at the earliest. ATKKH, further suggested that victim who made the supreme sacrifice be honoured with a posthumous award for bravery, and expressed condolence to families of the departed soul.


EDSC: In a condemnation note, East Dimapur Sumi Council (EDSC) said such “barbarous act” of taking an innocent life was condemnable to the highest order.
In this regard, EDSC chairman, Vihoto K Achumi in a press release appealed to the law enforcing agencies to investigate the matter meticulously and award rigorous punishment to the culprit as per the law. EDSC also conveyed condolences and solidarity to the bereaved families and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.


EDSYF: Condemning the “brutal murder”, the East Dimapur Sumi Youth Front (EDSYF) has appealed to the law enforcing agencies to award vigorous punishment as per the law of the land. In a condemnation note, EDSYF president, Atobo Assumi and general secretary, Kavika Sumi extended condolences and solidarity to the bereaved family during the difficult time and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.


YU Mon: Yuching Union Mon Town has strongly condemned the “brutal murder” of Hozheto Yeptho by Noknyei Konyak and appealed to the law enforcing agency to punished the culprit as per the law and deliver justice to the innocent victim’s family at the earliest. The union also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
