DC Peren issues advisory on conjunctivitis outbreak

In view of the outbreak of conjunctivitis (eye infection) in the state, DC Peren, Vineet Kumar has issued an advisory notification to the general public in Peren district.
A DIPR report stated that the advisory has been issued to ensure the health and safety of the public while containing the spread of the infection.


DC therefore advised frequent hand washing and use of sanitizers as preventive measures. Citizens have also been encouraged to avoid touching and rubbing their eyes and advised against sharing towels and handkerchiefs.
The advisory further suggested cleaning eyeglasses frequently using alcohol disinfectant and recommends refraining from using swimming pools during the outbreak.


DC also asked the citizens to avoid close contact with infected individuals. Educational institutions, both government and private, have been directed to monitor and manage the spread of the infection among students and leave be granted to symptomatic students to prevent further transmission.
Institutions with high case numbers have been asked to report to the relevant administrative officer and suspend classes if necessary. Medical inquiries can be directed to the office of the Chief Medical Officer in Peren at 9402639417, DC informed.
