Sub Divisional Education Officer, Niuland in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education, Kohima and Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland organised a “district level Student’s Science Fair 2023” for schools under Niuland district on August 29. The event comprised of a seminar competition under the theme ‘Millets – A super food or a Diet Fad’ and an Exhibition Competition under the theme “Science and Technology” at SDEO Niuland.
Delivering key note address, SDEO Niuland, Erali Swu encouraged the students to develop a scientific and inquiring mind in order to make their mind observant and filled new ideas and knowledge. She also apprised them on the numerous activities and competitions that the department has stream lined for the academic session t. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions of the seminar sompetition was bagged by Vilotoli Yeptho of St. Joseph Viyito, Sahil of Shepherd School and Kalivi Shikhu of GHSS Niuland respectively. In the exhibition competition, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Rick Chetri and Tovi Assumi of Central Academy Kuhuboto, Nazia Begum and Catherine of St. Joseph Viyito and Pilovi I. Chophy and Nisheto Awomi of Shepherd High School Niuland respectively.
The first position in both the seminar and exhibition will represent the district at the State level Science Fair which will be held on September 12 to be organised by the Directorate of School Education, Kohima.
