ANEFWA calls off ongoing phase-wise agitation

Following the assurance from the power department, the All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA) on Thursday called off its phase-I protest, which began on Wednesday, against non-payment of salaries to 66 regularised operation and maintenance staff (OMS).

ANEFWA president Vethinu Kezo and general secretary Vimesa Kera said the department assured to complete updating of PIMS of 66 OMS and related issues immediately. It also assured that there would be no future consequences on the matter of regularization of OMS.

ANEFWA, however, cautioned that failure to execute the assurance immediately, would compel them to resume agitation for indefinite period or until their genuine grievances were addressed in toto.
