Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) joined party workers in 722 districts across the country by organising padyatra at Kohima on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of the launch of its leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
Addressing the party workers before the padyatra, NPCC president Supongmeren Jamir said the main objective of the yatra was to tap into the issues faced by the common people and help alleviate them.
He said during the yatra, Congress workers would be meeting with grassroots people and seek their views, interact with them and understand them. PCC chief said that the idea behind the initiative, started by Rahul Gandhi, was to ensure that problems would be highlighted so people in the authority could address them.

Taking a dig at the Prime Minister Modi, Theünuo said Modi remained silent over Manipur unrest and warned that the same treatment would also be meted to Nagaland in the event the state faced such situation.
In this regard, he urged that people to opt for Congress so that party comes back in power at the Centre and save the nation from further degradation.
