Inner healing service at Shalom centre

Inner Healing Service was held at Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chumukedima on July 5 at the centre with reverend Sr. Dr. Joan, principal and director of TRADA National Institute of Social Sciences, Kottayam, Kerala as the resource person.
Informing this in a release Fr. Joe Mariadhas, director, SRC said clinical psychologist and leading member of the Christian Medical Association of India led the inmates into healing through Cognitive Behavioral Modification Therapy, a healing method used in Psychotherapies.
Stating if thinking and perception is wrong then the mind is preoccupied with this, which leads to addiction, he said in order to free oneself from addiction one needs to go deep into the realities of oneself and explore the depth and meaning of one’s life. Often young people become victims of substance abuse because they go to immature peers and are misguided.
A right cognition takes place through attitudinal change because of rational way of thinking. One needs take responsibility for life.
Change the belief systems you have and it will free you from addiction and added it was a very helpful exercise for the inmates who are in the process of recovery from addictive behaviors.
