Awareness on dengue in Tizit

Tizit Town Council, as part of Indian Swachhata League 2.0, organized an awareness on dengue and importance of safe sanitation practices at ADC conference hall, Tizit on September 20.


A DIPR report informed that medical officer at CHC Tizit, Dr. Sanjib Chowdhary elaborated on the various symptoms of dengue, which include high fever, headache, joint pain, and rashes.


In his presentation, he provided a comprehensive overview of the different types of dengue viruses and stressed the importance of following preventive measures to stay safe from dengue infection. He said that five individuals in Tizit have tested positive for dengue and have been referred to other hospitals for proper treatment.


SDO(C) Tizit, Tumben P. Tsanglao, emphasized the need for continued efforts to eliminate mosquito breeding habitats by ensuring that there was no stagnant water in and around their homes. Tsanglao also underscored the importance of using mosquito nets and repellents for added protection.


The sensitization program witnessed active participation from leaders of civil societies, ward presidents, GBs (Gaon Burahs), DBs, and officials representing various government departments and armed forces stationed in Tizit.
