Workshop on pottery, bamboo craft in Mkg

A two-day workshop on pottery and bamboo craft organised by School of Culture Watsu Mungdang commenced at the Women Resource Center Mokokchung on Friday. It may be noted that the School of Culture was established at the 22nd general conference of the Watsu Mungdang in 2021.


A brief inaugural programme was held before the workshop where president Watsu Mungdang, S. Arenla Longkumer delivered the welcome address. She said that the Mungdang has been trying to revive the rich heritage of the forefathers mentioning that unless and until work on preservation of culture was done, the identity could be lost.


She said that workshop was to kick start the long awaited venture and announced various plans of the Mundgang so that the trainees would be benefitted. Meanwhile, Dr. Adangla Changkija, convener School of Culture while highlighting the programme said that 14 trainees were attending the workshop. She also acknowledged the resource persons of the workshop for their efforts in making themselves available.
