All state services associations have threatened to launch pen/tool-down strike in the entire state with the exception of hospitals, educational institutions and emergency duties from March 20, 2017 if the state government failed to fulfil their demand within March 18, 2017 for implementation of the 7th RoP w.e.f. March 1, 2017. In a press release, Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) president, S. Takatuba Aier, said this was decided at a coordination meeting held on March 14, in connection with the memo No.CAB-2/2013 Dated March 11, 2017 relating to cabinet decision on 7th Central Pay Commission. Aier said the associations also decided to reject the decision of the cabinet to implement the 7th ROP w.e.f. March 1, 2018, which they viewed was against their genuine demand made several times since 2014.
