DSSU felicitates achievers

Dimapur Sümi Student’s Union (DSSU), organized a felicitation programme for the Sümi students who excelled in HSLC, HSSLC, BA,NPSC, NSSB, NET and Central exams at United colony fellowship, Nagarjan Dimapur, here on Saturday.


Altogether 23 individuals including nine from HSLC, three HSSLC toppers, one B.A, two NPSC (CESE), two NPSC (NCS), one each from NET and NEDFC and four successful candidates of NSSB were felicitated.


Speaking at the programme, Executive engineer, Electrical Division Dimapur Governor gold medalist Y. Akito Sema as special guest congratulated the toppers and successful candidates for their achievement. Encouraging the winners, he emphasized them to be more determined, humble, focus, self-reliant and not to be carried away with little attitude in order to excel in various fields.


Sema, also stated that God has blessed every individuals with different talents and not everyone was destined to become officers or successful in life. He therefore encouraged the students to be contend and serve the society with whatever they have been assigned.


Also delivering greetings message, president Dimapur Sümi Totimi, LokaViholi J Jhimo applauded the winners for bringing laurels to the community and further reminded them that without God’s guidance, parents and dedication/sacrifice success will not be accomplished.


Speaking on behalf of president Dimapur Naga Student’s Union (DNSU), vice president DNSU Mhajan Tsopoe congratulated the individuals and hoped that they would bring more laurels and achievement for the community and the Nagas in general.


He mentioned that DSSU was always been a backbone of DNSU and thanked them for constant support and further called for more cooperation and support for the welfare of the students community and society.
Earlier, the programme chaired by former magazine secretary DSSU Ikato Khulu began with an invocation by convenor Vikito Wotsa, DSSU president Vitoka N. Rochill welcomed the gatherings and introduction by general secretary DSSU Vinilo K. Achumi.


Highlights of the programme included speech on behalf of successful candidates by EAC Mekato J. Aye, special number by music educator V. Omekali Chishi, felicitation by vice president DSSU Phukahe Awomi, dedicatory prayer for the students by pastor DSBC Inavi Aye and vote of thanks by finance secretary DSSU Honoto I. Yepthomi.
