Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, empowered under Article 133 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC), 1973, has issued a directive to all pharmacies and medical stores selling Schedule ‘X’, ‘H’, and ‘H1’ drugs, have been instructed to install CCTV cameras and ensure proper recording and storage for a minimum of two months.
DC has set a deadline for compliance, requiring all affected establishments to have CCTV cameras in place by June 30, 2023. The move was aimed to enhance security and regulatory oversight in the distribution of controlled substances, DIPR report stated.
