Reacting against the NPF campaign in Manipur, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) said that there was no point in electing members to be in the opposition both in the state and at Delhi.
NPCC president, K. Therie was confident that the current state elections in five states would be a trendsetter to the 2019 parliamentary election. He also said that Rahul Gandhi was the “best bet for Northeast”, as he would “without fear or prejudice solve the political problem as his ancestors” had solved most of the NE problems.
NPCC stated that NPF was not only wasting time and money in Manipur as 15 candidates of NPF “know that they have no future” and can never form the government alone in Manipur.
People are also aware that the BJP has denied alliance with NPF in Manipur while NPF was senselessly talking against the Congress, added Therie. Terming that NPF politics has “strangled the economy of Manipur”, Therie said that “we must open opportunities for people to participate and get benefits” as youth exodus is “our major concern.”
Therie also said that progressive development was a matter of service to the people and peace and progress were always the objective of good politicians.
He also pointed out that “starving people through economic blockade” does not go well with humankind.
Since we are Christians, Therie said that “we are expected to do what is morally right to all manners of people in the spirit of our religion.”
