NPRAAF reminds F&CS deptt to cancel backdoor appointments

Nagaland Public Rights Awareness and Action Forum (NPRAAF) on Tuesday reminded the food and civil supplies (F&CS) department to cancel backdoor appointment of three LDAs.
NPRAAF through its information and publicity cell said the department had made official commitment through an official letter to conduct open competition against vacancy of three LDA posts that were filled by three individuals through backdoor appointment dated March 10, 2016 on regular basis. However, NPRAAF said following its intervention the department re-issued office corrigendum vide office order (part-II) No/294, 295, 296 Dated July 18, 2016 making the appointments on contract basis.
Reminding that the appointment of the three would complete one year in a few days time, the NPRAAF has therefore requested the department to immediately process to cancel the appointments and the said posts be requisitioned to departmental board/ NPSC for an open competition.
It stated that the competitive exam must be conducted without partiality or favouritism and in all fairness. NPRAAF also stated that F&CS must “scrupulously” adhere to the criteria laid down by the state government dated June 6, 2016 office memorandum (OM) with regard to appointment, which it said was also direction from the High Court.
In the event the department failed to keep its official commitment, NPRAAF has cautioned to take “appropriate measures” in the interest of educated unemployed Naga youths.
