ANPSA organize district inter-school quartet singing competitions

The Chümoukedima unit of All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) held its district inter-school quartet singing competition on October 7 at North Town Hr. Sec School with guest of honor, SDEO (DEO i/c.) Jevika Kiba.
The competition witnessed a mass participation of 17 various schools within Chümoukedima vie for the top position. Speaking on the occasion, Kiba emphasized the significance of such competitions in fostering young talent and expressed her hope that it serves as a stepping stone for students to achieve their dreams. Referring to the distinct differences in quality execution of educational merits of private and government schools, she also lauded the private units for consistently providing students with quality education and opportunities for co-curricular and skill development.

The overall champion title was bagged by Great Commission Hr. Sec. School, while St Joseph Hr. Sec School bagged 1st Runner up followed by Rincho Academy. The class 8 standard were the youngest participating class while others were of high school and higher secondary standard. The winners received cash and certificates of which the competition was judged by Neingusalie Yano and Wetsoteu Letro, final year students from Margaret Shishak Music School under Patkai Christian College.
Earlier, the program was chaired by Vice-President, ANPSA, Chümoukedima, Elizabeth Dozo, while Principal, North Town Hr. Sec. School, Chümoukedima, Bishnu Chetri delivered welcome note and President, ANPSA, Chümoukedima, Bendangchuba, delivered vote of thanks.

ANPSA Wokha unit organized a quartet singing competition at Christian Model High School (CMHS), Wokha, on Saturday. A total of eleven schools participated at the competition.
The panel of judges comprised a finalist in the Naga Idol competition, Emilo Patton, an Associate Professor at Mount Tiyi College and the proprietor of Dream Studios, Wokha, Khyopenthung Tsopoe, and David Ngullie, the proprietor of Bravo School Academy Wokha. Isaiah School emerged as the recipient of the first prize, while Fernbrook School secured the second prize. The third prize was awarded to Libemo Memorial School, and Christian Model High School was awarded with the fourth prize
ANPSA president, Edward Ngullie, stated that the purpose of this competition is to foster students’ talent, acknowledging that students possess limitless potential. Additionally, the judges emphasised the significance of maintaining proper timing while singing, as it is crucial in this art form. They encouraged students to continue practising diligently, as practice leads to perfection.


ANPSA General secretary, Rinton Lohe, Chaired the programme. Former-president of ANPSA, Rev Mhonyamo Ngullie, offered the invocation prayer. ANPSA vice president, Mhonroni Murry delivered the vote of thanks, and administrator CMHS, Serena Murry pronounced the benediction. The winners of the quartet singing competition of both the units will represent respective districts at the state level competition, set to take place on October 17 in Kohima.
