Khriehu graces ‘Vilie Peli’ 25th anniversary

Parliamentary secretary of Music Task Force (MTF) and State Lotteries, Khriehu Liezietsu graced the silver anniversary of Vilie Peli, D. Khel Kohima village as the chief guest at Dzücha Mechüpru D. Khel, Kohima on Tuesday.
Liezietsu in his address said celebrating anniversary was a time of forgiveness and reconciliation and even if there were any wrong against each other in the past or enmity, it  should be forgiven and reunited.  While expressing his appreciation for forming the peer group (peli), Liezietsu advised that it should not be just about gathering but to take initiative in preserving and promoting cultural heritage and undertaking new initiatives for the glory of the village.           
He said that although we had become Christians, it was necessary to preserve cultural heritage so that they do not die away and be lost. He urged that it was the responsibility of the peer groups to revive those for the generations, and he assured to extend help in whatever possible way. He thanked the people of Kohima village, especially D. Khel for their support and cooperation extended to him and his father during bad situation in Nagaland.
Leizietsu expressed regret that misunderstanding and miscommunication had cropped up between the government and the people of the state in the recent days, which has created division among the people. He urged the gathering to work together in days to come. He shared his plans for the youths especially in promotion of games and sports, music, education, skill development, vocational training and construction of roads within the village. He appealed for support and cooperation of the youth in the coming days.
Chairman D.Khel council, Kelhouphilie Kire in his address as the guest of honour said the jubilee anniversary was a good example and it signified good leadership and peaceful community. He extended his gratitude and appreciation towards the Vilie Peli for organizing the event in grand manner.
The programme was led by president Vilie Peli, Keneizhalie Kire,  invocation prayer by Ruokuolhoulie Kire, deacon, Khedi Baptist church, welcome address by president, Vilie Peli. Cultural promotion society D. Khel presented folk song, Vilie peli presented theme song, while vote of thanks was delivered by Kereivilie Kire, secretary, Organising Committee.
The programme was also attended by MLA, Merentoshi, parliamentary secretary Toyang Chang, Kohima DC, retd. Chief secretaries Alemtemshi Jamir and Banuo Jamir, Peli members, Kohima village members, D. khel members and other dignitaries.
