Drawing attention to the practice of proxy teacher under its jurisdiction, the Eastern Sumi Students Union has cautioned and put on blanket ban of such a practice under Aghunato sub-division.
A press note by ESSU president, Hutopu Yeptho and media & publicity secretary, Kakugha Sumi stated that the union had toured area-wise the educational institutions like Government High School, Government Middle School and Government Primary School, covering 56 villages under Aghunato sub-division. Starting from Aghunato on February 11 the tour was successfully concluded by ESSU on February 17.
ESSU stated that during its tour, the union had discussions with the VEC, teacher in-charge, GBs, local students union and village council on the issues confronting the apparatus of the school functioning and the menace of proxy teacher.
Union along with 56 villages had signed and resolved to strictly put the blanket ban on the practice of “proxy teacher” under Aghunato sub-division.
It stated that the resolution taken was that, any Government appointed teacher who was found indulging in “proxy” would be punished severally as per the existing law. It also stated that those person or individual who were found substituting the government appointed teacher as it’s “proxy” would also be penalized with a fine of Rs 10,000/- (ten thousand only) starting from the date on which he/she had replaced the appointed teacher as its proxy.
The union along with 56 signatory villages has also cautioned and resolved to take strict action against those individual or organization involving in facilitating or encouraging the practice of proxy teacher under its jurisdiction. In this regard the union requested all the stakeholders concerned to kindly cooperate.
ESSU also informed the government appointed teachers under Aghunato sub-division to be present in their respective posting latest by March 10. Union cautioned that failure to do so would invite stringent action as per the union’s resolution.
