In the series of “intense operations on underground outfits”, PRO (Defence) government of India stated that Changlang Battalion under the aegis of DAO division conducted a successful operation on February 26 at Mulong village and arrested one NSCN (K) member identi fied as Machow Ngaimong.
According to PRO (Defence), Machow was apprehended based on “specific intelligence about presence of cadre trying to terrorize and carryout extortion in Mulong village.”
The release stated that the battalion swiftly launched an operation and apprehended the cadre with a pistol and live ammunition.
Post spot interrogation, PRO said Machow admitted allegiance to NSCN (K), he further divulged that he has been an active part of the “banned outfit for last seven years.”
