Nagaland chief minister on Wednesday called on union minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Finance and Corporate Affairs minister Nirmala Sitharaman during which he highlighted the long-pending issue of the Trans-Nagaland Highway (Foothill Road-FHR) and also New High Court complex at Kohima.
Taking to X after meeting Gadkari, Rio said they discussed about the progress of the Foothill Road (Trans-Nagaland Highway) construction in the State. “Encouraged by his commitment to enhance road connectivity & infrastructure in Nagaland,” he said. Later, Rio also called on Sitharaman and discussed about completion of the long-pending New High Court Complex at Kohima.
“Grateful to her for her time and continued support,” he posted on X. It may be mentioned that the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) had in July this year appealed to the state government to endorse the foothills road project to the North Eastern Council (NEC) on priority during the current Financial Year 2023-2024 as per the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) resolution adopted on September 22, 2022.
