Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio, who flew to Delhi on being summoned by central leaders, held a meeting late Monday evening with NSA Ajit Doval and Centre’s Interlocutor to Naga Peace Talks R.N.Ravi.
According to information, the meeting discussed the current situation in Nagaland arising out of the ULB polls and how it began and escalated. Rio impressed upon Centre over the need to handle the current crisis with utmost care so as to not antagonise Naga public. He said it had to be tactfully handled as it could adversely affect the already fragile “Indo-Naga peace talks.” He also strongly urged upon the Centre to bring about an early solution to the Naga issue. Rio has been asked to stay back in Delhi for further discussions.
