AASA organises 2nd U-16 football tourney at Khehoyi

The Ato Area under the aegis of Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) under Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA), organised its second edition Under 16 Football tournament under the theme “Rising from the Grassroots”, on October 23 at Khehoyi village with CAO UT-1 NSCN/GPRN (I-M), Kakheto G Zhimomi as the special guest.

In a press release, AASA through its media cell informed that H. Kheoyi village emerged as the champion while Nikhekhu village was the first runners-up. Player of the tournament was awarded to Tono (Nikhekhu village), Best Defender – Hevika (Nikhekhu village), Best goal keeper – Nipuvi (Khehoyi village), Highest goal scorer – Tunato (Nikhekhu village), Hattrick – Tunato and Aka.


Speaking at the programme, Zhimomi encouraged the young players that success does not come by accident but it is earned through hard work. He urged the youngsters to work hard and give their best to achieve one’s goal. The programme was chaired by children pastor, H. Khehoyi Baptist Church, Avikali A, exhortation by VP WSSA, Kakheto K. Assumi.
