Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Government of Nagaland, Kudecho Khamo graced the literary and cultural day celebration of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Chozuba on October 28.
Speaking at the programme, Khamo asserted that human resources played a crucial role, underscoring that a prosperous nation can only be constructed by virtuous individuals, and acknowledged the significant contribution of teachers in shaping the destiny of the nation.
Emphasizing on the significance of the Chief Minister’s Meritorious Scholarship Fellowship (CMMSF), which grants a yearly award of Rs. 50,000 to high-achieving students of the HSLC examination for the next five years, Khamo motivated students to strive for eligibility.
Khamo informed the students that the choice was laid within them to decide whether they wanted to become employers or employees and elaborated on the fact that a student’s school years were the best time to make choices and envision their future. The advisor also urged them to make the most of their school days, emphasizing that making life decisions after graduation would be too late.
He encouraged the students to harness the assets to their fullest potential and reminded the students that dreams and visions alone were insufficient without prayer.
He emphasized on the importance of revering God and obeying their parents, acknowledging their significant contributions.
He also urged the students to show respect and obedience to teachers, who played a crucial role in the nation’s development, serving as mentors, and receiving their blessings.
Khamo encouraged the students to demonstrate sincerity and highlighted that the current government, led by chief minister Neiphiu Rio, was placing great emphasis on enhancing human resources.

The event commenced with a welcome address by vice-principal of GHSS Chozuba, Vesuzo Swuro, a captivating folk song was performed by Khovetalu and friends.
Dr. Janbemo N Humtsoe served as the debate critic, while Kuvoto Rhakho took on the role of the quiz master. In celebration of the occasion, a variety of competitions were organized, including Solo and quartet performances, debate, extemporaneous speeches, quizzes, a junior spelling bee, essay writing, 4D painting, mobile movie-making, and photography.
