WSSU felicitates 28 achievers

Western Sumi Students Union (WSSU) on Monday honoured 28 Sumi successful candidates of NPSC, NSSB and Central examinations. The event was graced by minister, PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, as the special guest.


Addressing the gathering, Zhimomi applauded the relentless efforts and emphasized the weight of responsibilities they were set to shoulder. He fervently encouraged them to serve with unwavering integrity, wholehearted dedication, and resolute commitment to create positive impact on the community.


He reminded the successful candidates that success was the fruit of hard work, underscoring importance of crucial period for youth aged between 20 to 27 years. He later urged them to not squander these formative years but to prepare diligently for their futures.


Jacob also emphasized that it was never too late for those who were yet to succeed, pointing out that the door was always open for those who persevere and work diligently to improve themselves.
Further acknowledging the pivotal role of parents in shaping their children’s careers, Jacob urged parents to guide their wards with wisdom and prayers, never leaving them alone in their journey.


He also highlighted government’s dedicated efforts in supporting and guiding youth towards brighter future, and encouraged everyone to embrace the opportunities with pride and to develop deep respect for labor.
Earlier, the programme was chaired deputy speaker, WSSU, Julie Zhimomi, recorded by AGS, WSSU, Viwoka Awomi and invocation by Youth Pastor, Chekiye Baptist Church, K. Viboto Achumi.


President, WSSU, Kabo Zhimomi, delivered welcome address while EAC, Meka J. Aye, spoke on behalf of the successful candidates. Vote of thanks was delivered by vice president, WSSU, Niuka Awomi, and benediction by general secretary, WSSU, Vinili Yeptho.
