Assam Rifles conduct various programmes across Nagaland

A lecture on cashless economy was organized at Cheiswema Garrison by A Morimenba Amer and Moasunep Kichu of National Institute of Electronic and Information Technology for troops of 9 Assam Rifles and their families. Challenges in making India a cashless economy including various steps taken by RBI and GoI to discourage the use of cash were also covered. 
 9 AR: 9 Assam Rifles also conducted a lecture on “know your armed forces” at Don Bosco School, Chiephobozou on January 27 for class X students. The students were educated about the various entry schemes including women entry schemes of the Armed Forces. They were also guided about the methods to prepare for the entrance exam.  
41 AR: 41 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (North) conducted an interaction with ex-servicemen (ESMs) at Kukidolong Company Operating Base (COB) on January 27. The interaction was attended by ESMs of Army and Assam Rifles and was presided over by Commandant, 41 Assam Rifles. The interaction aimed at addressing the problems of ex-servicemen and spread awareness about government schemes, pension benefits and recruitment schemes. It was attended by 41 ex-servicemen and village elders of Kukidolong & Medziphema villages. 
7 AR: 7 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (North) organised a medical camp and free health check-up in Pungro town on January 29. In the camp, 483 patients were treated by the doctors. In addition, 15 children were administered polio drops as it was also the day of Pulse Polio drive. Local administration also rendered support of two civil doctors to attend the patients’ along with the medical officer of the Battalion. 
15 AR: 15 Assam Rifles conducted free medical camp for the villagers of Waphar, Tuensang District on January 30 under the aegi s of Headquarter IGAR (North). The camp was inaugurated by 15 Assam Rifles medical team in the presence of village authorities wherein a total of 296 patients, 94 males, 76 females and 126 children were treated and provided with free medicines. The village authorities have conveyed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for organizing the camp.
3(NH) Bn AR: Lecture on “Hygiene and Sanitization” was conducted by 3(NH) Bn Assam Rifles at Dainty Buds School, Kohima on January 30 by Dy. Comdt Ganesh Singh.  The lecture covered methods of preventing human contact from the hazards of waste. It was explained that hazards can be physical, microbiological, biological, biochemical agents of disease. Wastes that can cause health problem like human and animal feces, solid wastes, industrial wastes and agricultural wastes etc, were also discussed and collection and treatment of waste were also discussed. The students were briefed about the importance of washing hands before preparing or consuming food and before feeding the children. 
They were also educated about use of ash as a substitute to soap in case of non availability. Importance of safe source of drinking water and measures for home based water treatment, such as boiling, filtering of drinking water was also emphasized upon.
