Leshemi Village Women Society (LVWS) held a protest rally against the rape of a minor girl of one year and 9 months allegedly by a juvenile on January 26.
A condemnation note by LVWS chairperson, Ketshe-u Losou stated that on January 20, the alleged accused lured the minor girl and committed the immoral act on the victim.
It stated that at first, the suspect denied the crime but after medical examination, it was confirmed to be “rape”.
LVWS said that it has viewed the act seriously and has urged all not to shield the perpetrator, while also stating that such brutality and heinous crimes towards girl/women should be debarred from a civilized society.
LVWS asserted that it would not remain a mere spectator but would fight for the rights against any harassment towards the women. While urging the law abiding body to excommunicate the culprit, it also asked that befitting punishment should be meted towards the perpetrator as per the law.
