Ecstatic Entertainment is gearing up for the much-anticipated “Mr. Sumi 2023”, an extraordinary showcase of art and culture, aiming to capture the vibrant essence of both modern and traditional perspectives within the younger generation.


This announcement was made during a press conference held at Conference Hall, Hotel Four Seasons, Dimapur on Thursday. The selection process would involve reviewing profiles, with only 20 shortlisted candidates invited for auditions which will be held on November 27. The deadline for registration was set at November 25, and the grand finale is scheduled to take place on December 16.


Advisor, Ecstatic Entertainment, Tohovi Sumi, shared his optimism about the platform providing Sumi youths with an opportunity to shine on a broader stage. He highlighted that the competition would identify the most desirable and alluring individuals who would be honoured with the prestigious title “Mr. Sümi 2023” and a chance to represent Nagaland beyond its borders.


He emphasized the commitment to preserving the priceless traditional and cultural heritage of the Sumi Naga community by appointing a talented traditional designer.
The organizing committee’s vision was to blend Sümi Naga tradition with a modern touch, creating a unique and captivating cultural experience.


He also added that contestants would undergo a set of comprehensive five-day training programme, covering physical fitness, grooming, diction, and speech. Additionally, participants would have to showcase cultural heritage of Sümi Naga.
Asked on the eligibility criteria, the committee clarified that only individuals, “Sumi by blood”, aged between 18 to 28 years, unmarried, and with a minimum height of 5.5 feet, would be eligible to participate.


Here, he informed that interested candidates were encouraged to submit their profiles, including indigenous and birth certificates, full-length and close-up shots, along with a short introduction in the Sumi dialect.
