An evening of choral music with two church choirs Baptist Youth Fellowship Dimapur choir and The Nagaland Chamber Choir, was organized by Baptist Youth Fellowship Dimapur (BYFD) on Sunday, at Town Baptist Church Dimapur. The choral evening was organized under the theme “Together in Music”.
The choirs include Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur Sanctuary Choir, GCTC Coronation Choir, Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo Ola, Baptist Youth Fellowship Dimapur Choir and The Nagaland Chamber Choir. The gathering was enthralled by the choirs, who presented more than two-three songs. People, both young and old from all walks of life gathered to witness melodious and graceful blend of Naga and Western influence in the form of choir.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, BYFD vice president, Limtsaba T Sangtam said that the objective of organizing such event was to bring together the churches under one roof, as most the of the church have been confined to their church. He said that it was part of the annual event which BYFD has been organizing and informed that BYFD conducts two events yearly.
The annual event includes not just music but sports and other activities providing platform.
Mentioning about the formation of BYFD, he informed that the main purpose of forming BYFD was to help the churches grow together so that each community churches will learn from each other.
He also lamented that for the last two years, BYFD could not organize the annual event due to pandemic and failed to bring the churches together.
