Nepali Gospel Singing Competition Voice Hunt Season-VI in Chümou

A one-day Nepali Gospel Singing Competition Voice Hunt Season-VI was organized by Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima Town Youth Department on November 12 with 8 finalists performing at the competition.


The first prize was bagged by Sanjana Basel of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima, second prize was grabbed by Sanju Thapa of Duncan Town Nepali Baptist Church while third prize was adjudged to Prem Chetri of Gorkha Baptist Church Diphupar.


The programme was graced by managing director of Mount Mary Hr. Sec. School & College Chümoukedima Town, C. Teeya Imsong, who in his speech focused on how music plays an important role in the life of youth and encouraged each participant to glorify Lord with their God given talents. He encouraged the youths to have the spirit and passion of dignity of labour. The Voice Hunt included special performance from first runners-up of Voice Hunt Season-I, Dipak Sunar.

Voice Hunt started since 2017 under the theme “Praise His Name”, the event was organized with a focus to inspire, enrich, and motivate the Christian Gorkha youths under Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland both spiritually and musically. This was the sixth time the NBC Chümoukedima Town youth department took initiative of organizing singing competition for Christian Gorkha singers of Nagaland.


Sponsor for the event for 1st prize was Samuel Thapa and Sunita Raut; 1st runners-up was sponsored by Manoj Ruchal, 2nd runners-up was sponsored by John Chettri & Manju Malla. Bishnu Tsopoe, Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department, Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland Youth Borad members, Ramita Sunar and Biru Lamgadey were the special invitees and donors.
